Accord studies the existing educational model of its partners, recommends changes, evaluates the impact of those changes, and reports to key stakeholder and the community. The Accord research team pursues grants from NSF and the US Department of Education. Recent DOE i3 Grant Submission: Open-Access Technology Integration Web Resource to Teach Basic Information Technology Skills in Middle Schools The specific goal of the open access technology integrated activity archive, Open TIE, is to develop assignments that integrate computer technology skills with math, science, English, and social sciences at the middle school level. The Open TIE project is developing a platform based on the open source Moodle Learning Management System to house, maintain, and deliver access to free Open TIE assignments. A total of 2,052 new Open TIE assignments are expected to be developed and no fewer than 9000 based on National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) and International Computer Driving License (ICDL) standards. Open TIE Assignments will be mapped to and aligned with state standards The unique technology and core content integration will utilize the Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) at the Florida Center for Instructional Technology at the University of South Florida to ensure meaningful integration.
