Scratch Day

Accord Institute organized Orange County Scratch Day on May 21st, 2011 at Orange Coast College. Scratch Day is a worldwide network of gatherings, where people come together to meet other Scratchers, share projects and experiences, and learn more about Scratch. Scratch is a programming language for especially K-12 kids developed by MIT Media Lab (http://scratch.mit.edu). This year, 126 Scratch Day events were organized in 36 countries.

About 40 people participated the event including students, teachers, and parents. While the experienced Scratch programmers were challenged at the team competition, beginners learned about Scratch at the workshop. At the exhibition, students shared their Scratch projects with the others and the program ended with awards for competition winners, best projects and other activities.
