ACCompete - Accord Computer Science Competition

ACCompete is Accord Institute's Computer Science Competition among AMSP students as a part of AMSP program. It is composed of four contests throughout the year. Students compete individually in the tests. The average of top four AMSP students in a school determines the score of the school.

Only AMSP students are allowed to take the test. This year, ACCompete became an online competition. Students have to login to the online competition website http://campus2.accordeducation.org/ with their assigned login id's and passwords in order to take the test. The contest will be available during the following times:

  • Test 1: November 30, 2009 - December 4, 2009
  • Test 2: February 1, 2010 - February 5, 2010
  • Test 3: March 15, 2010 - March 19, 2010
  • Test 4: April 26, 2010 - April 30, 2010

Contest start on Monday at 6:00 am in the morning till Friday at 23:59 pm. This year ACCompete awards the winners of each contest as well as overall competition with AMSP vouchers. In each contest:

  • 1st place: $25 voucher
  • 2nd place: $20 voucher
  • 3rd place: $15 voucher

Overall competition score is the total score of four contest. Overall winners will receive the following prizes as AMSP voucher:

  • 1st place: $100 voucher
  • 2nd place: $75 voucher
  • 3rd place: $50 voucher

These vouchers can be used towards AMSP camp fees. Teachers of overall competition winners will be also awarded with matching prizes.

Contest #1

Test has 10 questions with different question types: multiple choice, multiple answers, fill blanks, matching, and image zones. Please take the 'Sample Test' under 'Tests' to get used to the question types before taking ACCompete test. Each question is worth 10 points. Total time for this test is 30 minutes. Timer is NOT provided, you have to keep your own time and submit your answers within 30 minutes after you start.

Contest #1 Results

ACCompete started with a very competitive contest. While one student achieved full score, five students shared third place. Congratulations to Coral Academy of Science, Las Vegas; Tomlinson Corryn is the winner of the contest. School score is calculated by averaging the top-4 students of the school. PSA is ranked #1 with substantial difference and great team score. There is marginal difference in the following four six schools. Schools and their scores are as follows:

Contest #2 Results

ACCompete continues with competitive results. The second contest was harder than the former one. While two student shared the first place, three students shared the third place. Congratulations to both Marty Rhey (Paragon Science Academy) and Timothy Portillo (Magnolia Science Academy-1 Reseda). Contest #3 Results
